Overdraft Protection Options

Life happens. If your account balance isn’t enough to cover a purchase or withdrawal, our overdraft options are designed to help keep things moving - so your transactions can go through smoothly. You have three ways to protect your Everyday Checking account:

Overdraft Coverage from Savings

Automatically transfers available funds from your savings account to cover an overdraft.

  • To enroll, log in to Digital Banking, select Transfer & Pay tab, and choose the account to work with or contact our Member Contact Center.

Overdraft Coverage from Visa®

Uses your American Eagle Visa Credit Card to cover overdraft transactions (a cash advance fee applies).

  • To enroll, log in to Digital Banking, select Transfer & Pay tab (on App, Transfer & Pay is under the More option), and choose the account to work with or contact our Member Contact Center.

1Checking Overdraft Privilege

When other coverage options are exhausted, this service is activated for one-time debit card transactions. As long as your account is in good standing, we may honor overdraft transactions up to a maximum limit based on your type of checking account.

  • A $35 fee is assessed for each item. You will have 20 days to bring your account current.
  • To opt in, choose one of these options:
    1. Log in to Digital Banking, select Transfer & Pay tab (on App, Transfer & Pay is under the More option), and choose the account to work with
    2. Contact our Member Contact Center
    3. Regardless of which option you choose, you will submit the Overdraft Privilege Consent Form and review the Overdraft Services Policy
