Traditional and Roth IRAs
- Choose from a variety of savings options and investment tools
- With Traditional IRAs, you may be eligible for a tax deduction each year you make a contribution
- With Roth IRAs, all qualified withdrawals are tax-free
- With both Traditional and Roth IRAs, all annual interest and dividend earnings are tax-exempt
- Begin making penalty-free withdrawals at age 59 ½
- Early withdrawals can be made to buy your first home or for a child's higher education expenses (A Roth IRA must be open for at least five years before this type of withdrawal can occur)
- Consult your financial advisor for other key information about Traditional and Roth IRAs
Conduit IRAs
- Often called Rollover IRAs, these accounts are for funds moved from employer-based savings plans, such as 401(k)s
- By moving such funds directly into our Conduit IRA, you can avoid tax penalties associated with early withdrawal
- Funds may be placed in a wide variety of savings options and investment tools
- Contact an American Eagle representative for assistance in transferring your funds
Coverdell Education Savings Accounts
- Often called Education IRAs because they share many of the same tax advantages of retirement accounts
- Contribute up to $2,000 per year per student
- Funds may be used for private primary or secondary education costs or to cover college expenses
- Money may be used for tuition, room and board, fees, and academic supplies and equipment, such as laptop computers
- Any family members – parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. – may contribute to a student's IRA
- Though contributions are not tax deductible, annual dividend and interest income is tax-exempt and all qualified withdrawals are tax-free
