American Eagle Donates $5,000 to Boost Nonprofit “Boxes to Boots” Military Care Package Group for Veterans Day

American Eagle Financial Credit Union (American Eagle FCU) is marking Veterans Day 2024 with a $5,000 donation to the Berlin, Conn.-based nonprofit called “Boxes to Boots.”

The donation was one element of American Eagle FCU’s support for Boxes to Boots, as the credit union also devoted all 14 of its branch locations as collection sites for the daily essential items the nonprofit boxes and ships to U.S. military personnel overseas. In 2022, Boxes to Boots was also a recipient of American Eagle FCU’s member-generated Cash Back to the Community program.

“This Veterans Day, we wanted to involve our team members, credit union members and the public in growing our support for this dynamic nonprofit organization,” said American Eagle FCU President & CEO Howard Brady. “What better way to honor our veterans than by supporting the brave men and women of the U.S. military who are serving and protecting our nation around the world?”

During October, people dropped off daily essential items—such as toothpaste/brushes, soap, shaving cream, sunscreen, lip balm and more—which were donated to Boxes to Boots for its upcoming Operations Cares 2024 event on Saturday, November 16. 

“Many of us will also volunteer at the Operation Cares 2024 event on Saturday, November 16, when these items will be sorted and boxed into care packages for shipping,” Brady continued.
