The Siena Learning Center of New Britain received $500 to support their volunteer tutoring program to help area residents to develop and improve their English language skills enabling them to be productive members of society. The Center was founded in 2008 by the Dominican Sisters of Peace to provide literacy services to underserved adult learners with an emphasis on English as a Second Language (ESL).

Operation Fuel and Community Renewal Team of Hartford each received $2,000 to support their year-round heat and energy assistance programs for low-income households. Over 300,000 Connecticut residents struggle to pay for their heat and other energy bills. These organizations work on behalf of the most vulnerable residents to ensure equitable access to energy for all by providing year-round energy assistance, promoting energy independence, and advocating for affordable energy.
