American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) employees collectively donated $5,816 to Hockanum Valley Community Council of Vernon for "Jeans Fridays." By making a weekly donation through payroll deduction, AEFCU employees can wear jeans to work each Friday. Hockanum Valley Community Council (HVCC) was selected as the charity of choice for October-December 2019 by employees on the credit union's "Eagle Team."
“HVCC is grateful to the employees of American Eagle for their generous donation. This money will go a long way to help our professional staff and dedicated volunteers address the needs of over 1,000 individuals,” said David O’Rourke, Chief Executive Officer, Hockanum Valley Community Council. “We feed families, transport seniors to medical appointments, and provide quality mental health and addiction treatment that makes a difference in people’s lives,” added O’Rourke.
HVCC is a private nonprofit human services agency dedicated to meeting the needs of the residents of Vernon and the Tolland County area. HVCC provides services including meals, transportation, counseling, and education to individuals and families in a manner which will promote independence while ensuring that basic needs are met regardless of ability to pay.
