Employees of American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) generated $11,140 in payroll donations that are supporting local community-based charitable efforts. That number puts American Eagle employee donations at $23,307 for 2021 so far. Last year, AEFCU employees donated over $58,400 to local community organizations.
In recognition of Pride Month in June, the Eagle Team at American Eagle Financial Credit Union selected New Haven Pride Center as the recipient of $5,396 representing the second quarter employee payroll donations from its “Jeans Fridays” campaign, for the period April 1, 2021, through June 30, 2021.
AEFCU employees contributed an additional $3,197 to the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut and $2,547 to the American Eagle Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving during the second quarter.
The New Haven Pride Center is one of Connecticut's leading LGBTQ+ nonprofit organizations that provides both local and state-wide impact. Funds donated by the employees of American Eagle Financial Credit Union will be used to foster community-oriented programming that will provide Connecticut's LGBTQ+ community with opportunities to come together for shared experiences and learn from each other’s differences and similarities.
“Specifically the monies will help us continue to invest in our community's thinkers and artists through paid speaking and performing opportunities,” said New Haven Pride Center Executive Director Patrick J. Dunn. “This will allow us to expand our Transgender, Intersex, and Nonbinary programming to include a health and wellness series, and assist in the development of the Center's youth leadership institute.”
