American Eagle Financial Credit Union to Centralize Administrative Offices

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Dean Marchessault, President and CEO of American Eagle Financial Credit Union, announced today that the Credit Union plans to relocate its Administrative Offices from 417 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, and 20 Western Boulevard, Glastonbury, Connecticut.  The Credit Union has purchased the office building at 333 East River Drive, East Hartford, adjacent to East River Park. The transaction was recently finalized after an extensive search for suitable lease and purchase options in the Greater Hartford market. 

“Consolidating our operations into one location will provide us with the improved efficiency required to effectively serve our growing membership and maintain a similar cost structure,” Marchessault said.   In 2018, AEFCU plans to vacate approximately 70,000 square feet of owned office space in East Hartford and Glastonbury and move approximately 200 employees into the new location, which is a five-story, 100,000-square-foot property that sits conveniently near the intersections of Route 2, Interstate 84, and Interstate 91.  The Credit Union will continue to lease out the balance of the space to other tenants, as well as develop space for the American Eagle membership and their families to use for financial education and community meetings.  The Credit Union intends to maintain a branch in East Hartford for the foreseeable future.

What benefit will I see from this move?

Our new space will consolidate our support teams into one location, which will create efficiencies and provide improved communication and collaboration on behalf of our membership.  The purchase was made with the intention of consolidating our workspace without adding to the Credit Union’s cost structure. As a result, the institution will gain access to more space at a single location with little impact on expenses. 

My Credit Union loan payments routinely go to the 417 Main Street location. Will I need to change the address?

You can continue to mail payments and deposits to our 417 Main Street address.  We will notify our members if that changes in the future.

Will I be able to perform transactions at the new location?

No, the new location will not offer the membership access to account-related activities, but it will feature space for members and their families to use for financial education and community meetings.

Will I still be able to perform transactions at the 417 Main Street branch? What will happen to the existing locations?

Yes. We will continue to operate our branch at 417 Main Street. Once we have moved the administrative staff from the existing locations in East Hartford and Glastonbury, we will look to sell those properties and maintain a branch facility in East Hartford for your use.
