American Eagle Financial Credit Union is committed to improving the quality of life for the residents we serve in Hartford, Middlesex, and Tolland counties. We will dedicate money, in-kind support, and volunteer resources that enhance and support these communities by targeting contributions and volunteer resources to organizations, programs, and causes in three general categories:
Education and Youth (emphasis on literacy and personal finance)
Basic Human Needs (emphasis on food, clothing, and shelter)
American Eagle FINANCIAL Credit Union Fund
American Eagle Financial Credit Union has established a Donor-Advised Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to foster the Credit Union’s renewed support for charitable giving and community outreach.
The fund serves as American Eagle Financial Credit Union’s primary source of charitable giving and provides opportunities for the Credit Union, its members, and strategic partners to give back to the community in the form of financial support to charities in the Greater Hartford area. Recipients of grants from the American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund will generally fall into one of the three key areas described above.
The American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund enables the Credit Union to be actively involved with and charitable giving, while maximizing the expertise and experience of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. This partnership positions the Credit Union to fulfill its ongoing commitment to community outreach and development.
The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is the community foundation for the 29-town Greater Hartford region, dedicated to improving the quality of life for area residents since 1925. It is one of the largest community foundations in the United States. For more information call 860.548.1888.
Requests for Charitable grants and volunteers
The American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving may make charitable contributions to nonprofit recipients that are located in or conduct activities in a community in which the Credit Union has a place of business that are tax exempt organizations as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Written verification of the organizations 501(c)(3) status is required. The requesting organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, or veteran status in its employment, policies or in the services it provides. If all criteria are met, then a decision to approve or deny the request will be made according to policy guidelines.
American Eagle Financial Credit Union does not provide financial or volunteer support to: religious organizations for direct religious activities; political campaigns, lobbyists, individuals, fraternal organizations; activities outside community charter; and projects not aligned with the mission, vision, or values of the Credit Union or are inconsistent with guidelines and criteria established by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
