For students in grade nine or higher, a Student VISA® card is not only a convenient substitute for carrying cash, it's an opportunity for students to exercise financial independence and establish a credit rating. Parents set the limit Parents are an important partner in the Student VISA® program. First they must agree to accept financial responsibility as a co-applicant. At the same time, they know their children best and can request the card's credit limit at a level with which they're comfortable (from $250 to $5,000).
