Other Value-Added Services American Express Gift Checks Purchase American Express gift checks in denominations of $25, $50, or $100 for those difficult to buy for people on your gift list. There is a fee of $2.50 per check and they come in an attractive gift envelope. Gift checks make the perfect gift for graduations, weddings, birthdays and any other special occasion. Stop by any branch to purchase one. American Express Traveler's Cheques American Eagle offers American Express traveler's cheques in pre-packaged units of varying denominations and items. Single signature cheques cost $1.00 per $100.00, while dual signature cheques cost $1.50 per $100.00. Retirees receive single signature traveler/s cheques at no fee. Traveler's cheques are safer than money when you travel. They can be replaced if lost or stolen. Plus, you can transfer funds from your Credit Union account when you come in to any branch to purchase your cheques. Money Orders Money orders provide a safe alternative to sending cash through the mail and they are as good as cash when you do not have time to let a check clear. Money orders are issued by Traveler's Express and cost $2.00 each. There is a $500 limit per money order. Lost and stolen money orders are covered by Traveler's Express for a small fee. A member may obtain a form from any branch to send to Traveler's Express. They will resolve the problem in 30 days. Compare our low fee to other financial institutions fees of $2.50 each! Series EE bonds are available to members at half the face value of the bond. Information on the bond application is forwarded to the Federal Reserve and the purchaser (or recipient) receives the bond in the mail in approximately 3 weeks. Members must wait a minimum of 6 months before cashing out the bond. Bonds purchased within the past few years, 1995 and on, reach maturity in approximately 17 years. Bonds continue to accrue interest for 30 years after the issue date. This is a safe, secure way to save money and a great gift idea for students. There are no fees for bond purchases and you double your investment at maturity. Plus, series EE bonds bought after January 1, 1990, will not be subject to taxes if bonds are used for a child's education and satisfy other rules. Certain restrictions apply. Members should check with their tax consultant. Stop by any branch to purchase a bond or call our Member Contact Center at extension 5101 to receive an application by mail. Wire Transfers American Eagle offers wire transfers to its members to and from other financial institutions. Outgoing transfers will incur fees ($10.00 for domestic wire transfer and $25.00 for foreign wire transfer) and you must contact the recipient financial institution for wiring instructions. Availability of funds depends on the financial institution transferring the funds. Your signature is required prior to processing the transfer and additional information may required to verify identity. Members must transfer funds by 1:30 p.m. for international wires and 2:30 p.m. for domestic wires. Incoming transfers incur no fee and there is no minimum dollar amount required for a transfer. You need to give the Credit Union's ABA # 211176891, your account number, and account name (checking, savings, club, etc.) See a Member Services Representative for details. |
