In July 2009, American Eagle Federal Credit Union donated a total of $3,300 to support and enhance the communities we serve in Hartford, Middlesex, and Tolland counties.

Asnuntuck Community College

American Eagle FCU was a Corporate Scholarship Sponsor for the Asnuntuck Community College Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament on July 16, 2009, at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, MA. The Credit Union’s donation will be used to support scholarships at Asnuntuck Community College and will be awarded to deserving Tolland County high school students.

Manchester Memorial Hospital, ECHN Foundation Purcell Golf Classic

American Eagle FCU sponsored the Daniel Paul Purcell Memorial Golf Classic on July 15, 2009, at the Manchester Country Club. This annual event raises funds to benefit Manchester Memorial Hospital and is held in honor of the late Dr. Purcell.

Morrin Education Fund

American Eagle FCU participated in the educational fundraising benefit for the two children whose family was torn apart by the tragic death of their mother Alice Morrin. A spaghetti supper was held on July 29 at Rockville High School. Over one thousand community members and volunteers gathered to raise money for an education fund for Alice's two daughters. Products and services donated by area merchants were also auctioned off. American Eagle also donated gift cards, backpacks, and school supplies for the Morrin girls.

Habitat for Humanity
American Eagle FCU contributed toward Habitat for Humanity’s neighborhood building project on Guildford Street in Hartford. Habitat has partnered with over 100,000 volunteers and 171 families in building homes throughout the greater Hartford community since 1989.

Employee Volunteerism

From January through July, 66 different Credit Union employees have volunteered a total of 590 hours in the community.
