American Eagle Federal Credit Union branches in Cromwell, Glastonbury, and Plainville collected gifts for the Toys for Tots Foundation from December 1 through December 15.

Education Resources for Children Gift Wrapping

Several American Eagle Federal Credit Union employees participated in a gift wrapping program at the Alcorn and Barnard elementary schools in Enfield, CT from December 8

through December 16. The event was sponsored by Educational Resources for Children, Inc. (ERFf) of Enfield.

Manchester Community College Foundation, Scholarship Breakfast

American Eagle Federal Credit Union sponsored Manchester Community College’s Annual Scholarship Breakfast Reception on December 11, 2008. About 95 students, faculty, staff, and invited guests attended. Dean Marchessault, Executive Vice President at American Eagle awarded $500 American Eagle scholarships to the following Manchester Community College students: Jason Eddy, Accounting and Business Administration; Lolita Wynter, Accounting and Business Administration; Lisa Judge, Business Administration; and Carla Vincent, Business Office Technology.

East Hartford Community Shelter

On December 11, 2008, American Eagle Federal Credit Union donated two television sets to East Hartford Shelter residents who will be moving into independent housing.

The Salvation Army/WTIC Holiday Store
On Wednesday, December 17, American Eagle Federal Credit Union donated $500 to help the Salvation Army assist area families in need. On Tuesday, December 23, 2008, two American Eagle FCU employees volunteered to collect and sort donations at the Salvation Army/WTIC Holiday Store at the Hilton Homewood Suites in Glastonbury, CT. This annual event provides needy families with food, clothing, and gifts during the holiday season.

KIDSAFE CT

In December, American Eagle Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 to benefit KIDSAFE CT in Rockville, CT. KIDSAFE CT has worked to help prevent and treat child abuse and neglect in Connecticut since 1981. American Eagle’s donation will benefit KIDSAFE CT’s  home-based, intensive Parent Aide Program.

Food Collection

Throughout December, American Eagle Federal Credit Union branches in Bloomfield,

East Hartford (Main Office), and Vernon collected non-perishable food for local Connecticut food pantries.

Holiday Gifts for Needy Families

The Middletown branch purchased holiday gifts for a needy Middlesex YMCA family and the Mortgage Department in East Hartford collected, purchased, and delivered holiday gifts to a needy East Hartford family.
