American Eagle FCU Awards Scholarships to Danielle Sailer and Afua Korankyte Through the East Hartford High School Academy of Finance Program

American Eagle Federal Credit Union has awarded $3,000 toward scholarships to 2009 East Hartford High School graduates, Danielle Sailer and Afua Korankyte in conjunction with the school’s Academy of Finance Program. The scholarships were presented at East Hartford High School’s Annual Award Breakfast on June 4, 2009.

In September, Danielle Sailer will attend Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic. She is the daughter of Charles and Debbie Sailer of East Hartford. Afua Korankyte will attend the University of Connecticut in Storrs to study business management. She is the daughter of Thomas and Paulina Korankyte of East Hartford.

Sailer and Korankyte are both graduates of the East Hartford High School Academy of Finance. As part of this program they were trained and hired as seasonal Member Account Representatives at American Eagle FCU. Throughout the school year, they worked at the Credit Union’s branch at East Hartford High School. The in-school branch is open to students, teachers, and staff at the high school. Sailer and Korankyte are continuing their employment at American Eagle FCU through the summer.
