News & Events Using Your Credit or Debit Card Outside the United States Before you depart
on your next vacation or business trip outside the United States, American Eagle
would like to share some important information about your credit and debit
cards.
American Eagle FCU has blocked the use of our VISA credit
and/or debit card in the following countries due to fraud: DEBIT CARD BLOCKED COUNTRIES Balkans, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Burma (Myanmar), Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Croatia, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, North Korea, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, and Zimbabwe.
Using Your Debit Card at an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) Outside the United States Due to extensive
fraudulent activities in the use of ATM’s abroad, your debit card may not work
at a blocked foreign country’s ATM (Automated Teller Machine) to make cash
withdrawals using your PIN. We cannot unblock the use of ATM’s in these
countries. ATM BLOCKED COUNTRIES Philippines, Romania, Russia, and Spain.
You may use your debit card to make a cash advance at a financial institution in the country you are visiting.
Effective April 2008, VISA USA will begin to charge a .8% International Service Assessment on international transactions. If there is a currency conversion, the International Service Assessment is 1% of the transaction.
