ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER

Hours:
40 hours/ week Monday-Friday; ability to be flexible for overtime including Thursdays; minimum two Saturdays a month (own transportation required- mileage reimbursement provided)

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a positive role model demonstrating professional behavior and excellent member service at all times.
  • Effectively coaches and develops Teller Supervisor, Tellers & MFR’s to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Responsible for the hiring of new Teller Supervisor and participates in the hiring of Teller’s and MFR’s.
  • Responsible for the Performance Appraisals of Teller Supervisor and contributes to the Performance Appraisals of Tellers and MFR.
  • Assists Branch Manager in the development and implementation of an effective plan to meet branch goals.
  • Regularly assess progress to goals with Branch Manager, and assists in adjusting the plan as needed to meet branch goals.
  • Consistently contributes to the attainment of individual and branch goals.
  • Responsible for the security of the branch, employees, and members.
  • Responsible for being familiar with the content of the Branch Operations Manual.
  • Collaborate with branch manager in planning and facilitating branch meetings.
  • Actively listens and asks questions to determine all financial needs of member.
  • Accurately explains the features and benefits of all credit union products and services.
  • Demonstrates excellent member service by cross-selling additional Credit Union products and services to meet member’s financial needs.
  • Accurately opens new member accounts on core system.
  • Effectively closes and books Home Equity and consumer loans.
  • Effectively processes Visa, consumer loan and home equity loan applications.
  • Completes all training and testing required for certification within one year.
  • Maintains yearly certification requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises the Teller Supervisor.
  • Effectively coaches and develops Teller Supervisor, Tellers & MFR’s to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Responsible for the hiring of new Teller Supervisor and participates in the hiring of Teller’s and MFR’s.
  • Responsible for the Performance Appraisals of Teller Supervisor and contributes to the Performance Appraisals of Tellers and MFR.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems through a process of on-going communication.\

Education and/or Experience:
    Associates Degree and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common and intricate inquires or complaints from members, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to create and write reports and correspondence and presentations that effectively present information to staff, top management, public groups, Credit Union members.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and commissions.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    Notary Public and Signature Guarantee.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with a high level of proficiency in such software applications as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to utilize other technological resources such as the Internet and e-mail.
  • Ability to operate a fax, calculator, FiTech teller and loan systems and copier.
