TELLER SUPERVISOR

SALARY RANGE $16.46 Minimum - $26.79 Maximum

HOURS: 40 Hours/Week; 2 Saturdays/Month

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all of the duties of a Member Account Representative, including balancing a cash drawer daily
  • Provides assistance to the Member Account Representative in daily transactions and in resolving members’ complex, sensitive issues, questions or problems.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of lunch/breaks to ensure adequate coverage on the line.
  • Sets the example in exceptional member service.  Communicates member service standards to Member Account Representatives and takes action to ensure member service standards are met. Reviews their Mystery Shop scores and Quality Loop surveys and sets action plans to improve below-standard results.
  • Champions the Member Experience Guidelines for the Teller area not only by setting the tone and the example, but also by monitoring Member Account Representatives’ professionalism and compliance with its key provisos (i.e., greeting do’s and don’ts, privacy issues, transaction efficiency/clarification, work station standards for  cleanliness, cross-sell opportunities, and closing techniques). In addition, monitors Member Account Representatives for compliance with Branch Corporate Dress Code guidelines as set forth in Appendix A of the Member Experience Guidelines.
  • Follows up on cross sales opportunities and/or missed referrals with Member Account Representatives.
  • Assists Member Account Representatives in conducting trial balances and performing end-of-day balancing.
  • Follows Credit Union policies on funds available to answer inquiries about placing checks on hold and authorizing no-holds on checks.
  • Ensures that Member Account stations and lobby supplies are fully stocked.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures which can be streamlined or changed to make the operation of the Member Account line as efficient as possible.
  • Manages attendance on the Member Account line.
  • Additional duties as assigned; (i.e.:  servicing and balancing  CURT 83 cash dispensing ATM and CURT 93 full-service ATM, balancing the De La Rue self-service coin machine, balancing Traveler’s Cheques, managing the Cash Funding Analysis spreadsheet, ATM stamp reports, balancing the vault and ordering cash.). In addition, may provide platform support to MFR’s on occasion.
  • Directly supervises Member Account Representatives of the Vernon Branch.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager, Vernon in the interviewing, hiring, coaching, developing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems through a process of on-going communication.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree and 3-5 years teller experience or equivalent combination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good figure aptitude.
  • Works well in a fast paced environment.

  • In-house on line financial system (Windows based).

  •  Calculator, copier, fax, money counter.
